Positive Input Ventilation Installs

Lawson electrical regularly undertake PIV installs in Southend and the surrounding areas. One of the more recent installs was for a landlord where their property had unfortunately started to develop mould. In flats where clothes are often dried inside this can often lead to increasing levels of damp and sometimes mould. PIV (positive input ventilation) combats damp by supplying a continuous flow of fresh filtered air to the property. This is not only practical for preventing surface condensation and house dust mites but also provides an array of health benefits for the homeowner/tenant.

Why has mould become such a problem?

Due to increased energy prices many people are reducing the amount of time they have their heating on for. Properties naturally have a certain level of damp which is often evaporated by having the heating on and never recognised. Unfortunately the combination of reduced heating and this normal level of damp can lead to increased surface condensation and develop into mould. This is the reason for such an increase in mould in properties over the past winter.

If you are concerned for you for property or have noticed mould developing do not hesitate to get in touch with Lawson electrical. We offer free advice and information on PIV units and how they can best be utilised within your property.
