Lawson Electrical recently completed a large multi roof Solar PV installation in Leigh-On-Sea. This was for a long standing customer who amongst other works has previously had a Tesla EV charger installed by Lawson Electrical. The customer wanted to make optimal use of their car battery as a storage option and the large amount of roof space they have.
The Installation consisted of 14 Hyundai Solar PV panels spread across 3 roof faces. These fed down to a Solis hybrid inverter. Despite no battery's being added at this stage, having a hybrid inverter future proofs the system if battery's are required at a later date.
The solar panels were split onto two strings. Even though the panels were spread across 3 roof faces, 2 of them were facing in the same direction. This means there was no issue with having them all on the same string. However, 2 of the panels on this string required optimisers due to shading caused by a chimney stack. Usually if 1 panel on a string is in shade it can jeopardies the productivity of every panel on that string. Using optimisers counteracts this issue and allows the rest of the string to produce without any issue.
Installation of the system took 3 days and was sealed with bird mesh to prevent any possible disruptions from unwanted visitors. Rob personally oversees and takes part in every stage of the installation to ensure all regulations and quality control is met at every stage.
