Southend-On-Sea Install
Lawson Electrical recently installed and commissioned this solar panel and battery system in Southend-On-Sea. The Install comprised of a 5KW hybrid inverter, 2x 3.5KW batteries and 13x 375W solar panels. This was a dual string set up with the panels set across 3 roof surfaces (2 south facing and 1 west). Once again, by utilising these roof spaces it allows for the maximum amount of panels to be installed. In this case, the customer will be able to make use of the sunshine from dusk 'til dawn and beyond so was very satisfied with the end product.
Using Optimisers
On one of the roof tops there was a chimney stack that created a shading issue at certain times of the day on two of the panels. Shade on just one panel can effect the entire string limiting productivity. However, Rob had accounted for this and included the use of Tigo optimisers on the panels in question so efficiency was maximised across the array.
With the whole set-up this customer has, they are currently estimated to have a 8 year pay back period at current electricity prices of 34p kWh.
